When recent widow Lucy Muir (Gene Tierney) rents a house by the ocean, she discovers that it’s haunted by a cantankerous sea captain (Rex Harrison). In an unlikely turn of events, the two develop a friendship. The captain even helps her earn money by “ghostwriting” a book.
